How to put multiple pages on one sheet

    Choose 2, 4, 6, 9, or 16 pages per sheet. The pages are placed in sequence from the upper-left area across each row.

    Download the new A4 N-up PDF. The final sheet can contain fewer pages when the source page count is not an exact multiple of your choice.

Available layouts and page order

The editor offers exactly five layouts: 2, 4, 6, 9, or 16 source pages on one sheet. It creates A4 output pages. Each group starts with the next source page and fills the grid left to right, then moves to the next row.

If the last group is incomplete, the remaining source pages are placed on a sheet by themselves and the unused cells stay blank. Source pages with different sizes are scaled to fit their own cell while keeping their proportions.

This creates a new PDF; it does not just change a printer preference. The pages are embedded into a rebuilt sheet, so interactive features such as links, forms, annotations, and bookmarks should not be expected to remain interactive or intact.

Choosing a readable N-up setting

Use 2-up when small text matters, 4-up for slides or ordinary handouts, and 6-up or 9-up when a quick overview is more important than comfortable reading. Sixteen pages on one sheet is best for a compact reference or thumbnail view, not detailed text.

The printer-dialog N-up option leaves the original PDF untouched and lets the printer handle the layout at print time. This tool permanently makes a compact A4 PDF that you can inspect, share, or print later.
