Overview

PilotPDF provides browser-based PDF, image, OCR, and document utility tools. Many tools are designed to process files locally in your browser, which helps reduce unnecessary file transfer to servers.

Files You Use With Tools

For local-processing tools, your selected files remain in your browser while the tool runs. Some tools may depend on browser APIs or third-party services for specific functionality, and those limitations should be explained on the relevant tool page when applicable.

Analytics and Cookies

We use Google Analytics to count page visits and to understand how the tools are used, so we can fix what isn't working. Google Analytics sets cookies for this.

Besides page visits, we record a few anonymous tool events: that files were chosen (how many, their types such as PDF or JPG, and a rough size band such as "1–10 MB"), that a tool was opened, that a result was saved, that you moved a result on to another tool, and the kind of any error. These events never include file names, file contents, text you type, or passwords. Your files themselves are processed in your browser and are never sent to us or to Google. You can check this yourself in a couple of minutes.
